St. Mary's Healthcare in Amsterdam, N.Y., is planning to invest $1.5 million to expand and upgrade its hospital pharmacy, according to the Daily Gazette.
The pharmacy makeover is designed in part to ensure the pharmacy complies with USP 797 and USP 800 standards. USP 797 protects drugs from contamination during compounding and USP 800 aims to protect workers from contact with hazardous medications.
St. Mary's plans to renovate 1,513 square feet of space and replace some equipment.
