Ohio Northern University and Clarkson University have teamed up to offer pharmacy doctoral candidates an accelerated track that will allow them to simultaneously earn a master's of business administration degree — or another option — upon graduation.
Through the dual-degree track, students will be considered full-time at Ohio Northern and part-time students at Clarkson. Through online evening classes with Clarkson, students can choose to pursue one of three degree options including an MBA in healthcare management, a master of science in clinical leadership or a master of science in healthcare data analytics.
Electing to participate in the dual-degree track is more cost-efficient than completing each degree independently, according to an April 25 news release from Ohio Northern University.
The partnership "opens up a new direction for ONU PharmD students who seek healthcare management and leadership roles in their careers," Steve Martin, PharmD, pharmacy school dean for ONU, said in a statement.
The dual-degree program will begin in mid-June for the summer 2023 semester.
