Colorado acting Gov. Dianne Primavera signed legislation May 30 that bans using the body mass index when determining care for eating disorder patients and prohibits the sale of diet pills to people under 18.
The body mass index rule will become effective Jan. 1, 2024, and the diet pill restriction law will take effect July 1, 2024.
On the same day, Ms. Primavera signed a law that establishes a disordered eating prevention program in the state's Department of Public Health and Environment.
