Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker signed a bill into law that will require insurers to cover the costs of EpiPen injectors for children, according to CNN.
With the bill signed into law, Illinois is the first state to mandate EpiPen insurance coverage, according to the CNN article.
House Bill 3435 will require any company offering health insurance policies in the state to pay for "medically necessary epinephrine injectors" for those 18 years of age or under.
The bill takes effect Jan. 1.
