Harvard urged to strip Sackler name from campus museum

Parents who lost children to the opioid epidemic are pressing Harvard University to strip the Sackler name from one of its museums, according to The Boston Globe.

Parents and supporters rallied and protested in front of the Arthur M. Sackler Museum last week, arguing that his family's involvement in the opioid crisis should be enough to remove the name. The Sackler family owns OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma.

"Sacklers lie, our children die, take down their name!" the protesters chanted, according to the report.

The protest was organized by Team Sharing Inc., a support group for parents whose children died of drug overdoses.

Purdue Pharma faces more than 1,600 lawsuits linked its opioid marketing strategies.
