Geisinger is opening a pharmacy in its Muncy, Pa.-based Geisinger Medical Center.
The in-hospital pharmacy will offer prescription discounts and price-matching on medications found in larger retail stores without any membership fees, according to an Oct. 17 news release from the Danville, Pa.-based health system. Patients can pick up prescriptions as they leave the hospital or opt for curbside pickup or home delivery.
"The opening of this pharmacy makes it easier for our patients to pick up their medications right in the hospital, so they don't have to travel farther away to an off-site pharmacy," Jarod Schreiber, PharmD, said in the release. "Patients can also ask the pharmacist any medication-related questions to make sure they understand and feel comfortable with their prescriptions."
