Connecticut lawmakers are set to introduce a bill Feb. 13 that would cap the monthly cost of insulin at $50 for state residents, The CT Mirror reported.
The bill, which has bipartisan support, would also cap the price of insulin-related supplies such as syringes, pumps and blood sugar monitors at $100 a month.
It would also allow pharmacists to dispense insulin without a prescription in emergency situations, an idea modeled after an Ohio policy called Kevin's Law, according to The CT Mirror.
Connecticut's proposed insulin price cap is similar to laws passed in Illinois and Colorado, which cap the price at $100 a month.
