Cleveland Clinic's pharmacy leader becomes vice president at ASHP

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists named Samuel Calabrese, the chief pharmacy officer of Cleveland Clinic, to be its next vice president of accreditation services.

Starting in June, Mr. Calabrese will oversee all "accreditation of residency and technician training programs and serve as a member of the ASHP senior leadership team," the ASHP said March 10. He will vacate the organization's board of directors this summer.

At Cleveland Clinic, Mr. Calabrese previously served as the associate chief pharmacy officer, director of inpatient pharmacy services and pharmacy manager.

He will be taking the reins from Janet Silvester, the former vice president of accreditation services of ASHP, who retired in early March.
