Cleveland Clinic and pharmacy benefit manager EmsanaRx will collaborate to lower prescription drug costs, increase clinical programs and forge "opportunities to provide new treatments to patients."
The affiliation is the first of its kind, according to a Sept. 8 news release.
"Cleveland Clinic is bringing to this affiliation a patients-first approach to EmsanaRx in a time where employers and individuals are increasingly sensitive to the rise in pharmacy spending," Bruce Rogen, MD, Cleveland Clinic's Employee Health Plan chief medical officer, said. "We prioritize transparency, quality care and improving the health of every population and believe this partnership will further those efforts."
