Kirby Medical Center in Monticello, Ill., plans to open a retail pharmacy on its campus, according to the Journal-Republican.
The pharmacy, called Kirby Rx, will be open to the public. When completed, the pharmacy will have early morning, late evening and Saturday hours.
It will be placed inside the hospital where the gift shop is located. The gift shop will be moved across the hallway.
Construction of the pharmacy is expected to be completed by the end of August.
Kirby Medical CEO Steve Tenhouse told the Journal-Republican that the pharmacy should be open by late 2019 or early 2020 after it secures the appropriate licensure.
