The American Pharmacists Association is partnering with the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in Gainesville to offer one of the nation's first pharmacy-based test-and-treat certificate programs.
Three things to know:
1. The program will teach pharmacists how to provide on-the-spot testing services and treatment in pharmacy settings for conditions such as flu, strep throat and urinary tract infections.
2. The program requires pharmacists to complete 20 hours of self-study and live training.
3. Pharmacists nationwide can earn the certificate, as the program's criteria was designed to meet credentialing requirements in every state.
