Amazon is hiring a head of brand strategy for Amazon Pharmacy to build awareness of the pharmacy company and help Amazon grow its pharmacy business.
According to a recent Amazon job posting, the company is looking for a marketer "fluent in consumer needs, brand and messaging" to lead its branding strategy for Amazon Pharmacy.
Amazon launched Amazon Pharmacy in November 2020, an online pharmacy that allows consumers to purchase their prescriptions through the retail giant's website. Amazon Prime members get free two-day delivery of their medications and receive up to 80 percent discount off generic drugs and 40 percent off brand-name drugs when paying without insurance.
The pharmacy also employs pharmacists available 24/7 by phone.
Since its launch last year, Amazon Pharmacy has introduced several new services, such as one allowing Prime members access to some drugs for $1 per month and to order a 6-month supply for certain medications, in addition to traditional 30- and 90-day supplies.
Another service launched earlier this year allows Prime members to compare costs between Amazon Pharmacy and more than 60,000 other retail pharmacies, and to check their co-pays before ordering their medications.
In its job posting, Amazon said the head of brand strategy, a position based in Santa Monica, Calif., would be responsible for ensuring Amazon Pharmacy's brand positioning complements Amazon's overall brand positioning and increasing customer engagement with Amazon Pharmacy. The company is looking for someone with 10-plus years experience creating brand strategies for global consumer brands.
