Since the start of the year, Becker's Hospital Review has reported on six health systems opening pharmacies:
- Catholic Health — The Buffalo, N.Y.-based health system launched a specialty pharmacy.
- Geisinger — The Danville, Pa.-based health system opened a new pharmacy at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, Pa.
- Hartford HealthCare — The Hartford, Conn.-based health system opened a new 3,000-square-foot pharmacy that uses robots to fill prescriptions.
- Union Health — The Terre Haute, Ind.-based health system launched an on-site specialty pharmacy
- Bayfront Health St. Petersburg — The Florida health system opened an on-site pharmacy called Scripts Pharmacy.
- UAB Medicine — The Birmingham, Ala.-based health system launched a retail ambulatory-based pharmacy at its Medical West Hospital in Bessemer, Ala.
