After announcing a nurse who had treated Thomas Duncan had contracted Ebola, the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas shut down its emergency department Sunday, only to reopen it 12 hours later and close it again a half-hour after that, according to a report from the Christian Examiner.
The hospital spokesperson who gave the announcement indicated the initial closure was to “triple check updated CDC guidelines,” though the sequence of events that cause the opening and reclosure of the ED was not clear, according to the report.
