An American Medical Response ambulance crashed early Tuesday morning in Las Vegas, killing a patient and first responder onboard, reports Fox 5 Las Vegas.
The emergency transport vehicle was transporting a nonambulatory patient to a care facility when it hydroplaned, crossed the road embankment and rolled over on Las Vegas Boulevard. Nevada Highway Patrol reported the crash around 12:44 a.m.
Authorities pronounced the patient and one AMR employee dead at the scene. The ambulance's driver, whose injuries were not life-threatening, was taken to Las Vegas-based University Medical Center for treatment.
Nevada Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash, but cited weather as a factor.
