MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in the District of Colombia is pursuing plans to construct a new $400 million hospital building on the school's campus, the Washington Business Journal reports.
The hospital submitted its letter of intent to D.C. regulators on July 31, requesting to modernize its existing facility with a new medical pavilion. If approved, the pavilion would house the surgical, critical care and emergency departments, as well as administrative functions.
Construction on the project is slated to begin in late 2016 and be completed by 2020.
