Burlington, Mass.-based Lahey Hospital & Medical Center has partnered with The Al Khalidi Hospital & Medical Center in Jordan to open a new women's health center.

Here are six things to know about the facility.

1. The women's health center is located at Al Khalidi Hospital & Medical Center in Amman, the capital of Jordan.

2. It is the first privately run women's health center in the Middle East.

3. It features a full suite of imaging systems and healthcare informatics solutions to help with diagnosis and the development of treatment plans. It is also the only private hospital facility in the Middle East to offer its patients tomography.

4. Women who have breast MRIs and other diagnostic testing at Al Khalidi will have the ability to receive a second opinion from LHMC physicians.

5. Linda Moulton, CEO of Executive & International Health for LHMC, said in a news release the new facility expands Al Khalidi's capabilities in important areas. She added, "Our collaborative relationship with Al Khalidi strengthens both institutions and has the benefit of providing women extensive, expert care at the local level."

6. LHMC and Al Khalidi signed an affiliation agreement in 2014 and have since expanded their relationship to include an outpatient diagnostics center, an education and training center and the women's health center.
