California hospital damaged by wildfire remains closed

Adventist Health Feather River Hospital in Paradise, Calif., shut down in early November after sustaining extensive damage from a wildfire, but the hospital is taking steps to reopen.

"We're doing everything we can to restore needed services," said Jill Kinney, administrative director of marketing and communications for the Northern California region of Adventist Health. "We remain committed to providing healthcare services for Butte County."

She said the system is still determining the full extent of the damage to the hospital. During this process, Adventist is helping Feather River Hospital employees secure jobs at its other campuses. All employees with jobs interrupted by the wildfire will receive full pay and benefits through Feb. 5, according to the Chico Enterprise-Record
