1. Alabama hospital ceases inpatient admissions as it prepares to close
In preparation for the facility's closing, Regional Medical Center Jacksonville (Ala.) stopped admitting new patients and reduced emergency care June 5.
2. Indiana hospital closes obstetrics unit
Because the program is not financially sustainable, Scottsburg, Ind.-based Scott Memorial Hospital stopped delivering babies May 31.
3. UMass hospital to close pediatric unit
UMass Memorial HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital plans to shutter the 12-bed pediatric unit at its Leominster (Mass.) campus.
4. Tennova closes ICU, reduces surgical offerings at Lakeway Regional
Morristown, Tenn.-based Lakeway Regional Hospital, part of Knoxville, Tenn.-based Tennova Healthcare, stopped offering intensive care services and inpatient surgical procedures May 18.
5. NSMC Union Hospital continues phased shutdown
Lynn, Mass.-based Union Hospital, operated by Salem, Mass.-based North Shore Medical Center, shuttered its operating rooms May 10 as part of a phased closure.
