Hutchinson (Kan.) Regional Medical Center seeks volunteers to serve on its advisory council, reports The Hutchinson News.
The recently formed Patient and Family Advisory Council is set to include 10 to 12 former patients and family members who will provide monthly feedback starting in December about how to improve the patient and family experience at HRMC, according to the article.
"Our goal is to ensure that the patient perspective is integrated into service, quality and safety improvements throughout the healthcare system in an effort to enhance the patient experience," Paula Sheffer, patient family engagement coordinator at HRMC, who will oversee the advisory council, said in the report.
The advisory council will have an opportunity to weigh in on various topics, such as improving billing and the admissions process.
According to the report, work group representatives, including physicians, nurses, social workers and those in quality, will meet regularly with Ms. Sheffer and the council.
