ProMedica and The University of Toledo in Ohio have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a $36 million Interprofessional Immersive Simulation Center™, according to a news release.
The center will allow students and clinicians to use cutting edge technology in a simulated, low-risk environment. The IISC will be located in a new facility on UT's campus that is expected to open in 2012.
Unlike typical academic health centers that offer only one type of simulation center, the IISC will offer three integrated simulation centers: a progressive anatomy and surgical skills center; an advanced simulation center and the virtual immersive reality center.
