Trump pledges Q3 salary to fight opioid crisis

President Donald Trump Thursday pledged his third quarter presidential salary to HHS to help the agency fight the opioid epidemic, according to STAT.

President Trump makes an annual presidential salary of $400,000, which means his donation to the agency will be $100,000. During his presidential campaign, President Trump said he would donate any money he made serving as US President to charity.

"His decision to donate his salary is a tribute to his compassion, to his patriotism and his sense of duty to the American people," acting HHS Secretary Eric Hargan said Thursday during a press briefing, according to STAT.
