Boston-based Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health will host a conversation on the opioid epidemic with U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams, MD, on Jan. 24.
Dr. Adams, a board-certified anesthesiologist, previously served as Indiana's state health commissioner under then-Governor Mike Pence. As Indiana's health commission, Dr. Adams' supported a needle exchange program, which many have credited with helping end an HIV outbreak in rural Scott County. Dr. Adams has also vocalized his concerns regarding the use of prescription opioids and the opioid epidemic at-large.
The one-hour event will begin at 12:00 p.m. EST, and Harvard will livestream the discussion over the internet.
