Ashland, Ohio-based University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center was awarded a $10 million grant by the Samaritan Hospital Foundation, the Ashland Source reported Nov. 21.
The supplemental grant will be used to expand the hospitals' UH Seidman Cancer Center infusion center, renovate the primary care facilities and surgical space, recruit physicians and caregivers, and purchase imaging equipment.
"UH Samaritan Medical Center is Ashland County's only hospital," Paul Myers, chair of Samaritan Hospital Foundation's board of directors, told Ashland Source. "Our foundation exists to support the mission of the hospital and, with this gift, we are doing our part to ensure local health care needs are met."
