Kearney, Neb.-based CHI Health Good Samaritan opened a free cancer rehabilitation program, KGFW reported July 30.
Cancer Survivorship 101 is facilitated by specially trained nurses and mental health practitioners. The 9-week holistic course will begin Aug. 19 and offer guidance and resources on steps after treatment, including research-based advice on topics like nutrition, exercise, coping skills and healing.
Evidence supports that the program reduces depression and anxiety and increases hope, resilience, quality of life and happiness, according to the report.
