Atlanta-based Emory University School of Medicine and Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University named Reshma Jagsi, MD, as chair of the department of radiation oncology, effective Nov. 7.
Dr. Jagsi is deputy chair and residency program director in the department of radiation oncology and director of the Center for Bioethics and Social Sciences in Medicine at the University of Michigan, according to a Sept. 6 news release.
Internationally recognized for her research in breast cancer and bioethics, Dr. Jagsi has written more than 400 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, the Lancet and the Journal of the American Medical Association.
