Here are 12 cancer centers and clinic proposals, groundbreakings, openings and closings since Oct. 26:
- Greenwich (Conn.) Hospital's cancer center proposal was denied for a second time due to what city officials deemed a potential negative impact on the surrounding neighborhood.
- Paducah, Ky.-based Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital will break ground on its $12.5 million cancer center Dec. 13.
- Augusta-based MaineGeneral is proposing a $36 million expansion to its Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care to address an increasing number of cancer cases.
- Auburn (N.Y.) Community Hospital began construction on its $15 million cancer center Nov. 7.
- Jackson-based Children's of Mississippi broke ground on its $5 million renovations to the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
- Orlando (Fla.) Health Cancer Institute launched its Pancreatic Cancer Multidisciplinary Clinic on Nov. 2.
- Detroit-based Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute completed its $48 million expansion at its Lawrence and Idell Weisberg Cancer Center in Farmington Hills, Mich.
- Elkton, Md.-based ChristianaCare's Radiation Oncology Center at Union Hospital will close by the end of the year.
- Miami-based Mount Sinai Medical Center's Irma and Norman Braman Cancer Center is on schedule to open in September 2025.
- Philadelphia-based Jefferson Health's Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center launched its Geriatric Oncology Center of Excellence.
- Augusta-based Georgia Cancer Center hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its expanded radiation therapy building.
- Searcy, Ark.-based Unity Health Oncology doubled the number of therapy chairs at its Pyeatt Family Cancer Center.
