Five times in six months, patient health information has been compromised at one of Texas' 10 state-run psychiatric hospitals, according to a report in the Austin Statesman.
While one incident involved an employee purposefully walking out with patient records, the others were staff slip-ups, according to the report.
"This can't happen," said Christine Mann, spokeswoman for the Texas Department of State Health Services, in a Houston Chronicle report. "Our patients deserve privacy and expect that their information is kept confidential. We're doing everything we can to figure out what happened and how to address it."
