Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, Calif., has started construction on a new six-story medical office building.
The $130 million Scripps Clinic John R. Anderson V Medical Pavilion will be a centralized point for the hospital's specialty services, including cardiology, gastroenterology, pulmonology, neurology and endocrinology.
Additionally, four cardiac catheterization labs will allow physicians to perform cardiac procedures in an outpatient setting.
Eileen and John "Jack" R. Anderson IV donated $25 million to the construction project. The pavilion will be named after their son, who died of cancer in 2004.
