The board of trustees at Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard, N.C., voted to explore potential partnerships for the hospital with larger health systems, according to a report in the Asheville Citizen-Times.
Transylvania Regional, which says it is financially strong, is looking into a partnership with a larger health system to determine if a partnership would "enhance the operations and scope of services at the hospital so that the community can continue to have local access to a wide range of healthcare services," according to the report.
The decision to investigate the value of potential partnership came after several larger systems approached Transylvania about collaboration. The hospital is considering partnerships with regional and national health systems.
