Plans for a merger between Scott & White Healthcare and King's Daughters Hospital in Temple, Texas, are off after a ruling by the Federal Trade Commission, according to a report from KWTX News.
The FTC ruled that a merger would result in reduced competition, according to the report. Scott & White has since made an offer to a healthcare company to merge with or acquire KDH and to maintain it as an acute-care facility.
Scott & White took control of KDH in April and had planned to turn the facility into a children's hospital if the merger was approved.
