University of California's Board of Regents is expected for formally approve $3.1 million in incentive pay to 38 senior healthcare leaders in the UC system, according to a report by the San Francisco Chronicle.
The incentive pay, which ranges fro $30,120 to $218,728 per executive, will go to leaders who met performance goals, including improved patient safety and increased revenue, according to the report.
Although the Regents must approve the pay in a formal vote, it is highly unlikely that the pay will not be approved as it is included in each executive's contract.
The California Nurses Association at UC opposes to pay, arguing that it rewards understaffing, according to the report.
