Tennessee's Mercy Health Partners to Begin Rebranding

Mercy Health Partners, based in Knoxville, Tenn., will begin rebranding its hospitals, which will include dropping the "Baptist" name from some facilities, according to a report in the Knoxville News Sentinel.

According to hospital officials, in early 2010, St. Mary's Medical Center will become Mercy Medical Center-St. Mary's, Baptist Hospital West will become Mercy Medical Center-West and St. Mary's Medical Center North will become Mercy Medical Center-North.

In late 2010, the Community Division hospitals will be rebranded St. Mary's Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Baptist Hospital of Cocke County, St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County and St. Mary's Medical Center of Cocke County, according to the report.

Mercy Health Partners was formed in Jan. 2008 when St. Mary's Health System and Baptist Health System of East Tennessee merged into one organization.
