Skagit Valley Hospital in Washington Saves $1M After Strengthening Supply Chain Management

Skagit Valley Hospital of Mount Vernon, Wash., saved more than $1 million when it joined Premier healthcare alliance, according to a Premier news release.

The hospital joined Premier last fall, and the company helped it rein in supply chain costs. Skagit Valley also joined the Hospital Shared Services Association, a not-for-profit purchasing cooperative, which is aligned with Premier and other area organizations.

After joining the organizations, the hospital examined their new service line in spine supplies and address standardization, utilization, streamlining vendors and physician preference items.
