Dallas-based Methodist Health System and Arlington, Texas-based Texas Health Resources have agreed to collaborate to develop a multi-provider accountable care organization, according to a joint news release.
Stephen L. Mansfield, PhD, FACHE, president and CEO of Methodist said the two organizations have previously collaborated to improve healthcare services for the North Texas area.
Doug Hawthorne, CEO of Texas Health Resources, said in a statement, "Both nonprofit health systems have strong faith-based foundations and are dedicated to the communities they serve. Geographically the service areas of the two systems are complementary. Given today’s challenging healthcare environment, it makes sense for us to look for opportunities to optimize resources and work together to improve the health of our communities."
Both organizations have been participating in ACO preparatory projects with Premier, a national healthcare performance improvement alliance.
