President of Kentucky Health System Resigns

L. Clark Taylor Jr., president and CEO of Ephraim McDowell Health in Danville, Ky., has announced his resignation effective Jan. 4, 2010, according to an EMH news release.

Mr. Taylor is leaving EMH to serve as CEO of Hospice of Chattanooga (Tenn.), starting early next year, according to the release.

During his tenure as CEO, Mr. Taylor oversaw the expansion of Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center from 177 to 222 beds. He also initiated construction on a $16 million replacement hospital in Stanford, Ky.

Vicki A. Darnell has been selected as EMH's new CEO and president, according to the release.
