Harrisburg, Pa.-based PinnacleHealth and York, Pa.-based WellSpan Health have announced they will no longer pursue a merger, according to a report by The Sentinel.
The two systems began discussing a possible merger last year and examined if a merger could improve quality, affordability and access to care.
PinnacleHealth and WellSpan, however, determined that other forms of collaboration would most benefit area patients, according to the report.
