Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, S.C., is planning a $19.8 million expansion of its emergency department, according to a Herald Online report.
The planned expansion will add 21,000 square feet to the current emergency department. It will include 11 new exam rooms, bringing the total number of rooms to 37.
Construction of the ER could start in April 2013 and be completed by May 2014. Piedmont Medical Center is awaiting final permission from its parent company, Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, according to the report.
