The Partnership for a Healthier America has launched its Hospital Healthy Food Initiative and is inviting hospitals to join the program.
Hospitals that agree to the Hospital Healthy Food Commitment will adopt standards that span over four-years and include nutrition labeling, healthy food marketing, wellness meal offerings, elimination of deep fat fryers, increases in healthy beverages and increases in fruits and vegetables offered.
PHA brings together public, private and non-profit leaders develop strategies to end childhood obesity. First Lady Michelle Obama is honorary chair of the organization.
