Mercy officials have proposed plans to build a hospital that would replace St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., which was destroyed by a tornado in May, according to a Joplin Globe report.
The proposed hospital, St. John's Mercy Hospital, would include 327 private rooms, a five-story clinic and separate buildings for services including behavioral health. Pending zoning approval, hospital officials hope to complete construction for St. John's Mercy by the end of 2014.
