Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz., announced plans for a nearly $50 million operating room expansion.
The expansion will create a new surgical wing and add four minimally invasive OR suites, bringing the total to 16. The ORs will be an average of 550 square feet compared to the current 400 square feet. The project will also include a new integrated hybrid suite for advanced cardiac and vascular surgical procedures.
In addition, NMC will renovate one of its cardiac catheterization labs to include new, updated equipment.
The project will be completed in phases and is expected to be completed within 18 to 20 months from the start of construction.
