A bill has been introduced in the New Hampshire Senate that would create a three-person commission to set hospital rates, according to a report by the Boston Herald.
The bill, championed by Majority Leader Maggie Hassan (D-Exeter), is intended to contain healthcare costs and encourage competition among insurers, according to the report.
The commission would also end the practice of hospitals charging different rates for the same procedures, state Sen. Hassan said in the report.
