Memorial Hospital in Abilene, Kan., has begun constructing a $14 million addition, according to a Topeka Capital-Journal report.
The 45,000-square-foot addition will include the emergency department, surgery suite, laboratory, imaging department and 25 private patient rooms. The addition is the first stage in a two-phase construction project. The second phase is a $3.5 million renovation of the hospital.
The addition is scheduled to be completed in June 2013.
