Medicaid Payment Commission Holds First Meeting

The Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission held its first public meeting on Friday, according to an AHA News Now report.

The commission, created by the the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009, will advise Congress on Medicaid and CHIP issues including access, payment and provider participation among other issues, according to the report.

The commission is comprised of 17 members. A major goal of the commission is to work with states to create a "seamless" system of coverage and eligibility, according to the report.
