Medicaid Directors Urge Supercommittee to Increase Medicaid Flexibility

The National Association of Medicaid Directors is urging members of the supercommittee to provide more flexibility to states in how they operate their Medicaid programs, saying that more flexibility could produce savings for the program, according to a report by The Hill.

The NAMD said in a letter that states shouldn't be required to seek waivers to move Medicaid recipients into managed care plans, according to the report.

The letter did not provide specific savings estimates from the proposed changes.
