Edwards Air Force Base has successfully implemented McKesson's Horizon Medical Imaging PACS as part of a new contract with the U.S. Department of Defense, according to a company news release.
The new system is designed to help hospitals increase efficiency and improve care delivery through image management and distribution. McKesson has been named a PACS vendor of choice by the department and has completed the Air Force's Defense Information Assurance Certification & Accreditation Process.
Air Force bases in Sumter, S.C., Clovis, N.M., and Wichita, Kan., plan to install McKesson's PACS early this year.
