Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley will hold hearings from June 8 to July 1 on the $830 million sale of Caritas Christi Health Care to the private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management, according to a report by the Boston Herald.
After hearings in the six communities served by Caritas hospitals, Ms. Coakley will determine if the sale is in the communities' best interest.
The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, however, will ultimately decide on the deal.
