West Des Moines, Iowa-based Iowa Foundation for Medical Care has changed its name to Telligen to better reflect the organization's diverse services, according to a Telligen news release.
"From its beginnings nearly 40 years ago as a Medicare quality improvement organization in Iowa, our company has evolved into a well-diversified organization that helps improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of healthcare for consumers and providers across our entire nation," said Jeff Chungath, president and CEO. "And now, our new name, Telligen, better reflects our ability to combine extensive clinical and technical expertise to intelligently solve our clients' complex healthcare challenges — what we call Healthcare Intelligence."
Telligen serves commercial clients, as well as federal, state and local government clients, providing intelligent clinical, analytical and information technology solutions including:
• Care Management — Assuring Medicaid and commercial health plan members receive the right care in the right place, at the right time and at the right cost.
• Quality Improvement — Working with healthcare providers to measure their clinical outcomes and help them improve clinical processes to assure appropriate patient care, and providing resources for consumers to compare the clinical outcomes of hospitals and nursing homes throughout the U.S.
• Health Information Technology — Consulting with healthcare providers and government agencies to implement technology and data management solutions to better monitor their quality and delivery of care and patient populations, implement electronic health record systems and safeguard the privacy and security of patient health information.
