House Passes Common Preparedness Reauthorization Legislation

The U.S. House of Representatives has approved legislation that represents common ground in separate preparedness bills passed last year by the House and Senate, according to an AHA News report.

The Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Reauthorization Act, passed by the House, will reauthorize the hospital preparedness program, emergency system for advance registration of volunteer health professionals, medical reserve corps and other critical preparedness activities though 2017.

The legislation will now move to the Senate, according to the report.
