Hospitals Buying Integrated EMR Solutions for MU Attestation

So far in 2014, more than 110 hospitals have purchased integrated solutions from Truven Health for their electronic medical record systems.

The solutions make resources accessible to clinicians at the point of care, supports Meaningful Use certification of EMR systems and hospital attestation for Stage I and Stage II incentive payments.

The solutions include Micromedex CareNotes and modules from the Micromedex Clinical Knowledge Suite, such as medication instructions, drug information and lab recommendations.

"We partner with many of the industry's leading HIS vendors, including Meditech, EPIC, GE Healthcare, McKesson and CPSI, among others, to ensure healthcare providers can efficiently and cost effectively meet the new standards for accessing clinical decision support and patient education," August Calhoun, senior vice president and general manager of the Provider Solutions business of Truven Health Analytics, said in the news release. "We fundamentally believe the use of these resources can help reduce risk and elicit consistent and confident decisions to augment patient care."

A selection of U.S. hospitals that receive integration-ready patient education and clinical content direct from Truven Health in the includes Atlantic Health in Morristown, N.J., New York City Hospital and Health Corporation, Allina Health in Minneapolis, Kish Health System in DeKalb, Ill., and Trinity Mother Frances Health System in Tyler, Texas, among others.
